DGB shortlisted for sought-after Drinks Business Green Awards

DGB (Pty) Ltd, South Africa’s largest independent wine & spirits producer and distributor, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Drinks Business Green Awards 2017. The event organisers announced their frontrunners for the 2017 competition this week, with DGB being nominated in the Amorim Sustainability Award category for wine. The UK-based annual Drinks Business Green Awards is the world’s largest programme to raise awareness of green issues in the drinks trade and recognise and reward those who are leading the way in sustainability and environmental performance.

Winetech gives recognition to cellar workers

The Winetech study groups make a considerable contribution in the transfer of knowledge to cellar workers in the South African wine industry.

The Winetech study groups are endorsed by various industry organisations, i.e. Shiraz SA and the Cape Winemakers Guild and aim to address development and transfer of knowledge, in a practical and holistic manner, through closer collaboration with cellars.

There is a serious need for the development of practical knowledge, as well as the general knowledge of cellar workers, which should add value to their careers.
